World as nursing’s most prestigious international award
The Christiane Reimann Prize recognises outstanding nursing achievement and is known all over the world as nursing’s most prestigious international award. The prize is awarded every four years to one or more Registered Nurses (first level), who have made a significant impact on the nursing profession internationally, or through the nursing profession for the benefit of humanity. The prize is a cash award and a hand-painted porcelain statue of a nurse. The award epitomizes the values and standards that define ICN as the leader in nursing internationally.
A nominee may be an individual nurse or a group of two or three nurses who have worked together on the same project. Nominations may come from any source and may be made by individuals, groups of individuals, or organizations. Nominations do not have to be made or supported by the National Nurses' Association (NNA). However, all nominations must be channeled through the NNA so that the nominee’s membership in the NNA can be verified.
Each individual or organization, including NNAs, may nominate only one nominee or one group nominee.
Application will be evaluated against the 5 following criteria:
a) Contribution to Nursing (knowledge, patient care etc)
b) Policy Impact
c) Leadership
d) Vision
e) Global Impact.
